Wednesday, November 4, 9-10:15am
Wednesday, November 11, 9-10:15am

Experience the Elementary Grades at Charlottesville Waldorf School. Join us for a Waldorf Showcase and experience short lessons in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms focused on movement, math, and language arts.

Curious about what makes a Waldorf education unique? Join Charlottesville Waldorf School for a Waldorf Showcase and experience the rhythm of learning in our elementary classrooms. This interactive event offers families a chance to step inside Grades 1, 2, and 3, experience short sample lessons, and discover how learning unfolds as children grow.

Travel through the grades, learning about each year as you go, and stay for Q&A with our current 3rd teacher, Ms. Ariana Marie.

Experience the early elementary grades with Enrollment Coordinator Katie Boyts, who will introduce you to each year and guide you through the changing experiences of elementary school. Along the way, you’ll take part in short lessons focused on movement, math, and language arts, offering a glimpse into how Waldorf teachers bring academic subjects to life through purposeful activity, imagination, and hands-on learning.

In a Waldorf classroom, learning engages the whole child. Movement, rhythm, storytelling, artistic work, and practical activities are woven into the school day, helping children develop foundational skills while nurturing curiosity, confidence, and a lasting love of learning. As students progress through the grades, their lessons evolve to meet their growing abilities and interests.

The early elementary years are a time of remarkable growth. Children build literacy and mathematical understanding, strengthen their relationships with classmates, and develop greater independence as learners. Experiencing a few lessons firsthand is a wonderful way to begin understanding how Waldorf education approaches these important years.

Following the classroom experiences, stay for a question-and-answer session with our current third-grade teacher, Ms. Ariana Marie. This is an opportunity to ask questions about the curriculum, classroom life, and what makes the Waldorf approach distinctive. Whether you are exploring elementary school options for the first time or are already familiar with Waldorf education, we welcome your questions.

Come experience the elementary grades for yourself! We look forward to welcoming you to Charlottesville Waldorf School, sharing a little of what happens in our classrooms each day, and helping you discover whether Waldorf education might be the right fit for your family.
