Supporting a healthy childhood includes nurturing the parenting journey, honoring the needs of parents and children along the way.

The CWS Parent & Child program engages children and their caretakers in a morning rich with opportunities for connection, community, and creativity.

Parent & Child classes at CWS provide a warm meeting place where parents can connect with each other, learn from experienced teachers, and create community with other parents of young children. Children are engaged in singing, story-telling, unstructured outdoor playtime, and creating art to bring home. The Forest Parent and Child class meets out of doors year round. Our program is scheduled in 4-week* sessions for ages 18 months through 6 years, with a parent or caregiver accompanying.

Join our Forest Parent & Child Class on Tuesday or Thursday mornings!

Experience the seasons like never before as we explore in the forest each day.

Participate in our invigorating circle – where songs, movement, and storytelling are interwoven to present a living literary experience enjoyed by both parents and children. Crafts are offered that appeal to adults and children in their simplicity and beauty. Forest class participants receive parent enrichment articles by the instructor each week on various topics on child development: benefits of time outside in nature, sharing, social conflict, creating rhythm in the home, schedule overwhelm, upholding seasonal traditions, and more.
