More than Educators

At Charlottesville Waldorf School (CWS), our teachers are lifelong learners, mentors, and guides who meet each student with care, insight, and intention. They are Educators and more; unique individuals who are here for the freedom in which Waldorf education is rooted.

In addition to holding degrees in education or related fields and bringing years of classroom experience, our faculty engage in ongoing Waldorf teacher training. This specialized preparation includes deep study of child development, the arts, storytelling, movement, and holistic curriculum design — ensuring that our teachers are equipped to support not just academic growth, but the full unfolding of each child.

All of our teachers also participate in professional development opportunities through the year — some specific to Waldorf and other more general training to enhance their knowledge and understanding of various aspects of child development and educational advances.

Our staff and administration bring that same commitment and warmth to every part of school life, supporting a culture of collaboration, trust, and purpose.

We invite you to get to know the people who bring our mission to life every day.
