In the grade school, our Waldorf curriculum includes a unique array of specialty subjects designed to foster creativity, support development and ingenuity, and connect students with the world around us.

At the Charlottesville Waldorf School, students are engaged in handcrafting through a variety of fiber and textile handwork projects, woodworking, and gardening. Spanish language begins in First Grade with a focus on absorbing the beauty, rhythm, and comprehension of the language. Music is shared throughout the curriculum, but is also focused in specialty classes through flute and recorder playing, on to a variety of string instruments and orchestra in the upper Elementary Grades and throughout Middle School. Movement classes inspire confidence and social skills through playing and moving together.
