  • Narrative sequencing and comprehension through retelling of stories
  • Vocabulary expansion: finding synonyms, word association
  • Continuing with the sequential approach to language arts from first grade: decoding and encoding long vowel words
  • Introduction to elementary grammar: capitalization, basic punctuation, simple tenses, plural formation, nouns, verbs, and adjectives
