At Charlottesville Waldorf School, the Middle School Science Fair is an opportunity for students to follow their curiosity and experience the full arc of scientific inquiry. Each March, students design and carry out independent projects, asking their own questions, developing hypotheses, and discovering what it takes to bring an idea to life.

Working largely on their own, students demonstrate initiative, perseverance, and creativity as they explore a wide range of topics. The resulting projects reflect not only scientific understanding, but also originality, careful observation, and pride in meaningful work.

The Science Fair is a celebration of curiosity and growing independence—an experience that strengthens students’ confidence in their ability to investigate the world and contribute their own thinking to it.
