Let’s make some rock critters and creatures!
Children in the Grade School will likely recall our painted rock project as part of the CWS celebration of Waldorf100 in September. Same idea here, except this time we encourage you to create a creature or critter and take them on some adventures in your home or yard. Source a smallish, smooth stone (about hand-size works well, a flat-ish surface is helpful) and have some fun!
If you are painting, acrylic paint will work best and last longest. We used tempera paint at school in the Fall and the colors showed up nicely, but if the rock is left outdoors the paint will wash away. There are also instructions below for heating rocks and decorating them with wax crayons!
We would love to see pictures of what you make – send to firstname.lastname@example.org.
