Weekly Projects and Adventures
June 15 – 19
Just Add Water
Our littlest campers will create nature boats and jar terrariums this week, exploring the playground for materials and good sailing puddles, enjoying the sand and water tables, and discovering what floats or sinks!
June 22 – 26
Outdoor Explorers
Enjoying nature walks on our woodland playgrounds, the children will collect and press flowers and leaves to make fairy houses and candle holders.
June 29 – July 3
Where the Wild Things Are
Caring for and observing painted lady butterflies as they change from caterpillars to chrysalis and then emerge with beautiful, colorful wings will inspire the children in creating caterpillar and butterfly puppets and watercolor paintings. At the end of the week, the butterflies will be released into the school gardens!
July 6 – 10
Fiber Arts
Taking raw wool through the full process of washing, carding, dying, and wet felting, the children will create a felted fishing game.
July 13 – 17
Farm to Table
Our tiny campers will be harvesting from the school gardens, gathering flowers and creating their own mini herb gardens. Grinding grain for homemade bread is always a favorite task for this age group, and they will churn butter and make simple jam to complete their delicious snack!
July 20 – 24
Creative Re-engineering
Exploring the woods and playgrounds, children will collect sticks, grasses, flowers, and other natural materials for found object mobiles and making beautiful woven stars!
