Amanda Tipton

Amanda joined the CWS administration as the office manager in 2010 and found herself the school coordinator by the summer of the same year.  She graduated summa cum laude from Ferrum College in 2004 with degrees in art and philosophy, and was accepted into the philosophy graduate program at Stony Brook University the following year.  Instead of pursuing the academic life, however, she left the program (and the big city) and returned home to the West Virginia mountains.  She married her long time beau that fall and quickly started a family.  Before working at CWS, Amanda owned an in-home child day care called The Caring Vine, where she baked bread, led circle times, and enjoyed her days with 2 and 3 year olds (plus her newborn 2nd child).  Finding Waldorf education was a validation of her previous work with children, and she feels she’s found her life’s work in seeing to the day-to-day operations of a school for which she cares dearly.
