Suzanne Ryan
Suzanne joined the CWS faculty after eight years as a class teacher at the Rudolf Steiner School in New York City and one year at the Goderich Waldorf School in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Prior to becoming a Waldorf teacher, she earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Oberlin College and a masters degree in elementary education from Teachers College, Columbia University; taught English at Shanxi Agricultural University in Taigu, China, for two years; and taught first and second grades at a public school in New York City. She has spent years nurturing her skills in the fiber arts by serving an apprenticeship on a sheep and goat farm, spinning, knitting, crocheting and most recently teaching herself how to use a sewing machine. This year has brought many new aspects to her life with a new family, the start of a training in remedial education, and a new position as faculty chair.
