Hendaya Haggerty
Mrs. Haggerty was born in Santiago, Chile where as a child she attended a Waldorf school from preschool until third grade. When she was nine years old her family moved to Caracas, Venezuela where she lived for ten years. She came to the US to learn English and destiny anchored her here, she has been leaving in this area for twelve years. This year she obtained an Associates degree from PVCC and she is currently attending UVA to obtain a Bachelors degree. Mrs. Haggerty feels very fortunate to have found a career that she loves. She is starting her 5th year working with early childhood at the Charlottesville Waldorf School. Her job consists in guiding the children to develop their imagination and social skills through creative activities. It is important to her to work in an environment that fosters reverence for its surroundings and appreciation of beauty. She strives to help the children develop confidence and to stimulate a thirst for knowledge in them.
