Ariana Coate

A graduate from the Green Meadow Waldorf School, where she attended grades seven through twelve, Ariana comes to Waldorf teaching with many of the qualities she seeks to instill in her students: a love of learning; a wide variety of artistic skills; a love of the natural world; and joy in life. She attended Southern Oregon University where she studied fine arts and science and graduated Summa Cum Laude and has earned certificates in Waldorf Education at Waldorf Teacher Education Eugene and in Waldorf Educational Support at Sunbridge College. Ariana taught for three years at the Hawthorne Valley School in New York's Hudson Valley before joining the faculty at the Charlottesville Waldorf School, where she taught one class first through fifth grade and is now teaching first grade again. When not busy teaching, Ariana can often be found at her Waynesboro home where she gardens, studies permaculture, preserves food with lacto-fermentation, and tends her honey bees and chickens.
